NWPOA started in late 2007 after hearing that area residents were being contacted by landmen with offers to lease land for natural gas exploration. Neighbors quickly started gathering and sharing information in order to become better educated about the process. Thanks to the voluntary efforts of our members, we have grown to where we are today, an 80,000 acre+ group of landowners in northern Wayne county, and Susquehanna County PA who signed leases in the summer of 2009 and thereby have partnered through a landowner friendly lease with Hess Corporation.
Our First Mission - ACCOMPLISHED!!!!


To assist the property owners of northern Wayne County by serving as the principal agent to achieve a gas and oil lease with the following goals:

  • Property protection
  • Sensitivity to the environment and the community
  • A severable contract composed with addendums
  • Increased compensation and royalty

 

The Northern Wayne Property Owners Alliance will accomplish these goals through strong organization, open dialogue, and community education.

NWPOA will continue as a focal point to ensure property protection and rights while planning for the future of our community.

 

Our Second Mission

 

To identify and support our members' needs during the exploration,development, and production phases of Natural Gas Drilling and act as a liaison by representing the members in public forums, press, and governmental and regulatory hearings.
